Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is a fatty acid that the body needs for the production of certain hormones, including prostaglandin PGE1, a substance similar to hormones. PGE1 is involved in regulating systems: nervous, cardiovascular and reproductive systems, skin health and other biological functions.
