IRON aminoquelados - Lamberts
IRON aminoquelados is a water-soluble compound in which the molecules of glycine are tied to an iron atom to form two heterocyclic rings, which share the iron atom. Chemically, this compound is iron bis-glycine chelate or iron amino acid chelate.
The iron amino acid chelate is preferentially absorbed at the jejunum and contrary to what happens with inorganic salts of iron as ferrous sulfate, its absorption is not interfered with normal components of the diet such as other metals, phenols, phytates, etc..
The first involves absorption of iron, metal uptake by the intestinal mucosa, followed by intracellular metabolism of iron which can be fixed by ferritin to their sites of utilization (hematopoietic tissue).
In studies that compared the absorption of daily doses of 100 mg of ferrous sulfate and iron Malta, for 28 days, the use of iron was 17 and 12% respectively.
Studies conducted with 30 mg of iron amino acid chelate the same time, they showed a bioavailability of 46%.
Absorption of iron amino acid chelate is higher than that of the prototype ferrous salt (sulfate) and reaches a level of 46% versus 8.5% respectively. The bioavailability of iron amino acid chelate established for its effectiveness to restore hemoglobin to normal levels and restore the body's reserves, as measured by serum ferritin was increased up to 75% compared with the bioavailability of ferrous sulfate was 27.8%.
