Prunes (also called a thief) is a dried plum. It covers the nuts, but in itself is a dried fruit, just as dried figs, apricots and peaches, grapes, etc. .. Any variety is susceptible to undergo the drying process. Prunes protrude from the state of California but its production and consumption is widespread around the Mediterranean [citation needed].
Process
Formerly the drying process was by solar rays, but has now been introduced mechanical dewatering.
Nutrition
Prunes stand by the amount of fiber, minerals and antioxidants that contain [citation needed], being a natural remedy long used for cases of mild constipation.
