GERMANIUM:
In 1886 a German chemist Clemens Winkler discovered an unidentified chemical agent. A mineral that occurs in small amounts in food and carbon deposits in the earth's crust. This substance was called Germanium. In 1950 Dr. Kazuhiko Asai, a brilliant Japanese chemist discovered traces of fossilized plants germanium. The next innovation came about Russian Germanium, where reports had suggested that anticancer properties.
Some years later, Dr. Asai found that many medicinal plants, such as garlic, barley, shiitake and clorera have high concentrations of germanium (Asai, K. Miracle Cure: Organic Germanium, Japan Publications Inc. 1980) . The holy water from Lourdes, known for its therapeutic value also contains much Germanium.
In 1967 Dr. Asai succeeded in synthesizing a new compound of germanium and discovered that the substance manufactured also had healing abilities. In this product we now know as organic Germanium. One may wonder how something made by man can be called organic. The reason is that anything that contains carbon in its molecular architecture is organic.
The organic germanium atom is so structured that accepts and transmits electrons, giving a capacity of semiconductor. This means that it becomes an electrostimulator, inducing the flow of electricity. In its pure metal, germanium is widely used in industry for transistors, optical fibers and many other applications. Biologically, it seems electrical impulses to stimulate the cellular level. Modern science has established as a fact fully demonstrated that our bodies, with our nerves and muscles, all are connected electrically. So any substance that can improve our electrical connections must have a deep and stimulating effect on living organisms.
Germanium has many peculiar properties and extremely valuable as: oxygen is an improver as has been demonstrated that increasing the flow of oxygen to all the cell units, especially on sites where there is a deficiency.
It is an adaptogen that normalizes most body functions and that meets the specific needs of each. We have seen that in cases of serious diseases such as cancer, stimulates the immune system to produce substances that in turn will help to destroy malignant cells. We have also noticed that germanium is a kind of brain booster because many people report an increase in mental capacity. Perhaps this effect is a consequence of the aid which produces germanium for the body to send more oxygen to the brain. On the other hand, we can say that germanium is a detoxifier because their chemical structure tends to bind, chelate and then eliminate certain toxic compounds and harmful substances such as heavy metals.
Surely we can say that the immune Germanium is a catalyst because it helps convert the inactive macrophages 100% active cells. So does to enhance interferon production and increases natural killer cell numbers. Organic Germanium has been extensively investigated by both the orthodox scientific community as by alternative practitioners, finding remarkable therapeutic effects. The versatility of organic Germanium's therapeutic effects and virtual non-toxicity make it a highly attractive substance to any physician interested in achieving and maintaining good health in their patients.
The existence of an element with the atomic structure of germanium was actually predicted by the Mendeleev Russian chemist who left a space in his periodic table for an element he called ekasílice. Germanium four belongs to the family of the periodic table with carbon, silica, tin and lead and is usually classified as a semimetal or that otherwise has semiconductor properties. To achieve achieve an organic form of germanium, a great job was required laborious that consumed more than 10 years of painful life of Dr. Asai. But ultimately achieved sesquioxide carboxietilgermanio obtaining a white powder that was first synthesized in 1967 (Tsutsui, M., Kakimoto, M., Axtell, DD, Oikawa, H. and Asai, K., "Crystal structure of CarboxyethylGermanium sesquioxide ', I. Amer. Chem Soc, 98 (25), 8287-9, 1976).
MEDICAL USE:
Organic germanium, has since been used in many ways, alone, with diet as part of a program on stress and even as a nutrient adjuvant cancer. The safety of organic Germanium has been well documented. Examples of conditions where it is used are: rheumatoid arthritis, epilepsy, cancer, Parkinson's disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, asthma, malaria, pain, gastritis, duodenal ulcers, diseases mental, leukemia, Raynaud's disease, certain skin problems, glaucoma, amyloidosis, and many others.
Describing some of the actions that have organic germanium on the immune system, we can say that stimulates the production of interferon (Aso, H., Suzuki, F., Yamaguchi, T., Hayashi, Y., Ebina, T., and Ishida, N. "Induction of interferon and activation of NK cells and macrophages in mice by oral administration of Ge-i 32, an organic germanium compound '. Microbiol. Immunol., 29, 65-74. 1985), stimulates the production of T suppressor cells (Badger, AM, Mirabelli, OK and DiMartino, M., 'Generation of suppressor cells in normal rats by treatment with Spiro-germanium, a novel heterocyclic anticancer drug'. Immunopharmacology, 10, 201-7. 1985) stimulates the activity of natural killer cells (Mizushima, Y. Shoji, and Y. Kaneko, K., "Restoration of impaired immunoresponse by germanium in mice '. Int Arch Allergy App!. Immunol. 63, March 38-9, 1980) and as I mentioned, activates macrophages and becomes cytotoxic macrophages (Sato, I., Yuan, BD Nishimura, T. and Tanaka, N., 'Inhibition of tumor growth and metastasis in association with modification of immune response by novel organic germanium compounds'. I. Biol Response Mod, 4, 159-68, 1985, 98, 103, 105). There are several publications that discuss the results of the use of organic Germanium as an alternative treatment for AIDS (Badgley, L. Naturally Healing Aids. Natural Therapies for the Immune System, Human Energy Press, 1986.y Weiner, MA, Maximum Immunity: how to naturally fortify your defenses against cancer, AIDS, arthritis, allergies and other immune deficiency diseases. Gateway Books, 1986).
Since 1987 the use of organic Germanium as an agent potentially promising treatment for AIDS was discussed at a conference in Japan (Schuitemaker, GE, Germanium: a mineral of great promise, Orthomoleculair, No. 3, 1987). Another action of organic Germanium is enriching the oxygen supply. Which means it decreases the requirement for oxygen consumption by tissues and extends life. When there is more oxygen available, the viscosity of the blood decreases, therefore, increases blood flow to all organs.
Organic Germanium protects against carbon monoxide poisoning, it is beneficial to treat many eye diseases and healing wounds, especially burns. The organic Germanium also acts as an antioxidant, particularly against amyloid accumulation (Suzuki, T., Ishikawa, S., T. and Oboshi Motoyama, S., "Suppression of experimental and acceieration amyloidosis in mouse model '. Acta Pathol Japan , 30 (4), 557-64, 1980). Protects the oxidation of cysteine ??(Takashima R. and Y. Mitsui , "Germanium as a stabilizer of cysteine ??eye drop" In Immunomodulation by Microb. Products and related synthetic compounds. Symp. Osaka 27-29 July 1981, Exerpta Medica 498-500, 1982). Has significant effects on superoxide dismutase activators and enzyme systems associated with glutathione (Harisch, G., 'glutathione and glutathione-dependent enzymes of the rat liver after different doses of Sanumgerman. "In 1st Intl Conf on Germanium, Hanover, October 1984 Lekim and Samochowiec (eds.) melweis Sem-Verlag. 1985).
Organic germanium has the remarkable ability to capture and discharge of heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium, lead and others. Another very important fact which has organic germanium is that it protects against radiation-induced damage in humans, including those patients receiving radiation therapy for cancer.
Organic Germanium has an analgesic effect in influencing both the catecholaminergic and serotonergic system (Kleinrok, Z., Lekim, D., Jagiello-Wojtowicz, E. and Chodkowska, A., 'Central action of Sanumgerman in mice', Pol I. Pharmacol. Pharm., 38, 299-307, 1986). This action explains some of the temporary side effects sometimes seen when taking large doses of organic Germanium (more than 1,000 mg per day) as lethargy, dizziness, drowsiness. Stimulation of serotonin exerted a calming may explain the positive effects of feeling better and consistently observed in patients taking organic Germanium.
