The devil's claw or Devil's claw is one of the most potent natural anti-inflammatory, and this is the key to its success in natural medicine.
The Devil's Claw (Harpagophytum precumbens) is a perennial plant native to southern Africa, the regions bordering the Kalahari Desert in today's Gambia.
Its fruit that lies at ground level is woody, 10 to 20 cm. in length and comes with protrusions shaped hooks or claws. Hence it is also known as Devil's Claw.
The taproot is long and tuberous and leave it like secondary roots peanuts with a strong bitter taste that gives the therapeutic effect.

Properties
